Gently throwing a small pebble onto the river’s surface creates far-reaching concentric ripples showing us that an act of energy forever changes matter. This concept is unfortunately also defined through the gun violence that permeates our society. The power of anger and fear when sent through the trigger of a gun takes life, but it also transforms and pervades through communities and the lives of loved ones who are left in the aftermath of that violence. Many of my collages express these layered ripples that violence sends into our world and how that reverberates into anguish over lost innocence and faith in humanity.
