FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: When we think figuratively of Ebb & Flow we often think in terms of coming and going, positive and negative, decay and regrowth. This past year has caused an ebb & flow of emotions, displacement, and shifting of values within ourselves, our communities and nations around the world. We have mourned countless losses and at times celebrated moments of recovery and reunion. Within this exhibition are images that reflect not only the emotional impact and changes caused by this pandemic, but also images that have the power to fill our hearts and heal our souls.

Experience the imaginative and skillful manipulation of paint, ink, wax, metal and fiber. The style and substance of each work of art is as diverse as the background and experiences of each artist. Participating artists include Nancy Agati, Michelle Ciarlo-Hayes, Elena Drozdova, Mo Ganey, Colleen Hammond, Nathalie Borozny, Brenda Howell, Karen Hunter McLaughlin, Julie Mann, Kimberly Mehler, Glynis Raisch, Rebecca Schultz, Teresa Shields, Julia Way.

Artessa Alliance is a collective of Philadelphia area artists. Its members have achieved numerous honors including two grants from the Leeway Foundation for Art and Change, the University of Hartford Graduate Thesis Grant to Paris, France, a Fulbright Fellowship, a Temple University Fellowship, the Peacemakers Award from Philadelphia’s Mothers in Charge, the Cheltenham Center for the Arts Linda Brener Award, and Mural Arts of Philadelphia commissions
