Continuum

Art happens on the continuum between energy and matter. It comes as a probable response to an energetic impulse so obscure and fleeting that the demand to establish connection with its hidden source is nagging. Intuitively, it leads to realization that like a dream that comes during sleeping hours this impulse may vanish without a trace. How something so indispensable and meaningful to my life may be lost forever, may in fact be never found at all? Living with this fear breeds doubts and agitation that urge to produce tangible things that may be accepted as a proof of reality of the initial impulse and my own by comparison.

It is not the reality of my flesh and bones that painting proves, but Creator in me. As an uncertain search for an unpredictable outcome, painting trains to rely on the process as the only sure thing, as the whirlpool of constantly materializing creative energy. Questions and doubts that appear along the way are reliable stepping stones towards unknown, whereas the experience of defeat and despair brings darkness that wants to break into light. Ending up with the materialized object that in itself is more of a puzzle rather than an answer is the warrant of the infinity of the quest.
